Physical Therapy for Strain & Sprain Recovery

Muscle Strain & Joint Sprains

A muscle strain or joint sprain can interrupt work, recreation, and everyday tasks. We support your recovery with rehabilitation matched to your needs and stage of healing.

At Greenbelt Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine, we listen to your concerns, assess your movement, and develop a plan around the activities that matter to you.

A Plan for Your Next ChapterYour movement. Your routine. Your goals.

Focused on Your Strain & Sprain Recovery

Rebuild after an injury.

Strains involve muscles or tendons, while sprains involve ligaments. The right rehabilitation approach depends on the injury and its severity. Your therapist reviews your history, evaluates your function, and considers medical guidance.

Your therapist discusses the movements that have become difficult, including moving the injured area, rebuilding strength, and progressing toward the tasks affected by your strain or sprain. We review your relevant medical history and instructions and assess the movement, strength, and function needed for your goals.

Your care may include mobility work, progressive exercise, hands-on treatment, and functional activity practice. Activities are selected for your injury and progressed as appropriate.

Tell us about your diagnosis, previous treatment, and any surgery or activity restrictions. Your plan is selected for your situation rather than a single routine for everyone with the same symptoms.

Your Questions, Answered

About Your Care

Do I need a diagnosis before contacting you?

You can call our office to discuss an evaluation and any referral or coverage requirements. Your symptoms alone do not identify a particular injury, so share any medical findings or instructions you have received.

Can I attend after surgery or a fracture?

When prescribed and medically appropriate, rehabilitation follows your surgeon’s or treating provider’s instructions, including movement and weight-bearing restrictions. Contact our office to discuss timing and required documentation.

Will the plan depend on my specific injury?

Yes. The diagnosis, severity, stage of recovery, and your goals can change the treatment approach. Your therapist reviews these factors with you.

How many visits will I need?

Your therapist discusses a recommended schedule after your evaluation. Coverage, referrals, and authorizations may also affect the approved visits.
