Optimal workout attire includes comfortable or loosely fitting clothes. While it's preferable for the clothing to enable exposure of the treated area's skin, it is not mandatory. Throughout assessment and follow-up sessions, the therapist may need access to your skin, muscles, and joints in the specific area undergoing physical therapy to accurately identify and address the issue.
During your initial visit, a licensed physical therapist will review your medical history and assess your
injury or ailment. Baseline measurements of your strength, flexibility, and mobility will be taken to tailor
a personalized care plan in collaboration with you. Typically, the first visit may include a brief treatment,
and if suitable, a home exercise plan will be established
At Greenbelt PT , our team of licensed physical therapists collaborates with you to reduce
pain. The primary objective of physical therapy is frequently to alleviate discomfort and enhance
functionality. Throughout each session, our licensed physical therapist staff consistently assesses and
monitors your pain to minimize any unnecessary discomfort.
Injuries vary, and each individual's health history is unique. Generally, patients undergo physical therapy for 1-2 months to restore function and safely resume previous activities. The frequency of clinic visits, ranging from 2-3 times a week, depends on the severity of the condition. For instance, common sprains and strains may take 4-6 weeks, while post-surgical rehabilitation may extend to 2-3 months. We will collaborate with your schedule to create a plan that promotes healing and independence.
At Greenbelt Physical Therapy our physical therapists measure your baseline function at the start of care during your evaluation. During subsequent visits, our therapy staff will monitor and assess your progress with activities during treatment sessions and provide regular feedback to you. Midway through your plan of care, the physical therapist will often re-evaluate your function, update your physical therapy goals, and provide a progress note to your referring physician. At the end of care, your physical therapist will re-assess your function, check your progress with your activities of daily living, and provide a note to your referring physician with your updated functional status.
Patients without insurance coverage can take advantage of our discounted self-pay rate, which is payable at the time of service.
